There will be an early morning session from 10:00am – 11:30am open only to those who have pre-registered for the competition online or at the show on Friday (at the official cosplay booth #1009). This session is done so that as few people as possible have to miss out on any other aspect of the show… remember, we’re all there to have fun… and nobody really wants to have to wait in a long line when there’s cool stuff to do. The second session is for contestants who register at the show, or can’t make the morning session for some reason. The second session will occur from 3pm-5pm. Pre-judging gives the judges a chance to look over costumes and ask questions about their construction prior to the event so the costume's creator should be in attendance with the model. Judges will be evaluating costumes based on the following criteria: accuracy, creativity, and technique. Judging will decide upon the costume winners following pre-judging and winners will be announced following the contest.

So you think you can DANCE and COSPLAY at the same time? In this cosplay contest, your dance moves and your ability to improvise is your ammo! We want to see your best ballet, belly dance, break dance, hardstyle, hip-hop, jumpstyle, krump, mambo, modern, pop n’ lock, salsa, shuffle, swing, tap dance, and any other dance style you can show us as you freestyle your way to the top! Come in costume by yourself or with a friend, and show us how your talents mix with the world of cosplay!
The FSC Cosplay Dance Off will consist of 3 rounds. There will be up to 15 Teams consisting of either one or two people. Entries will be capped at 15 Teams, so sign up early to reserve your space. You will have up to 1 minute in each round to impress both the judges and the audience, which determines whether or not you advance to the next round.
Round 1: The B.Y.O.M. Round. That means, “Bring your own music!” It’s up to you to pick the song you’ll use in the first round, so you have the advantage of choreographing your dance beforehand. Remember, you only have 1 minute on stage to dance! Please submit a CD (mp3 formatted only) to the Cosplay Registration Booth when you turn in your registration form. If you have pre-registered for the contest online, make sure you still hand in your CD to the Cosplay Registration Booth BEFORE the contest!
Round 2: The Improv Challenge Round! This round will test how well your Team can improvise to any song! Our judges have selected 10 well-known songs from pop culture that you will dance to! You will have up to a minute to dance on stage to songs by hit artists like: Benny Benassi, Lady Gaga, and Andre 3000. We’re using songs you will probably know, but even if you don’t know the song, the challenge of this round is to go with the flow! Remember, your minute starts as soon as the song starts, so make it work!
Round 3: The FSC Cosplay Dance Off Round! 3 Teams will be selected by our panel of judges to participate and a Wild Card Team will be selected by the audience. A judge will call out the number of each Team while the song plays and that Team will dance on stage until the next Team is called up. Our final four Teams will go head to head in true dance off style to a song everyone is guaranteed to know, so be prepared to PARTY and ROCK!
